Hey there, everyone! It's been a long time since I've posted, but that's because of the eventful summer we have had here at Stonewater serving many teens!
Last post, I talked about the upcoming Father/Daughter Salmon River trip! It went well. So cool to see daughters and dads grow in their relationships with each other, try new things, and build new friendships in the other couples.
Here are some of the ladies of the trip.
This is me, my dad, and sister near a super cool waterfall!
After the river trip, we had a group of 60-ish 8th graders visit the ranch. We went hiking, rock climbing, and kayaking! It was a super amazing time spent talking about Jesus. My amazing co-leader, Carly, threw down the Gospel every evening. The girls were asking serious questions about life and relationship with God. They had an amazing leader that walked through the week with them and is walking through life with them now. She is so passionate about these gals and as we were saying our goodbyes, she said "The girls just need to be shown they are loved and that's what I'm here for." Please pray that they will either begin or continue their relationship with our Savior.
After that, it was such a pleasure to have a returning group from last year! This middle and high school youth group has been consistently doing trips with YD for over 8 years! Some of the kids are super strong in their faith with Jesus while others don't know Him. We had some amazing and heart-warming moments on the trip as the students challenged themselves and brought up conversation about the Gospel. It was very evident to see the Lord break down walls and soften hearts on this trip. Praise Him!
The next week, I was able to be food and gear staff on the open-enrollment high school horse camp! The photo above is of me and Jordy when we wore our crazy pajamas to breakfast.
These ladies had an amazing week on horses, learning about how we are relational creatures created uniquely for a relational God.
The most amazing thing about this camp was that a student who gave her life to Christ in January (her story is here) was able to come! She had been attending classes at her church because she wanted to be baptized. Unfortunately, she never got the opportunity to be officially baptized and her heart was so troubled and burned with that desire all week. It was amazing to see how much she has grown in Jesus in just a short time. Her love for the Lord and change in her heart is so evident. I feel so blessed to have been walking alongside her during the radical change toward Jesus. Near the end of the week, she decided that she wanted to be baptized at camp! She asked me to baptize her, and of course I said, YES!
The next weekend, I was able to be a part of a team-building trip with the Edmunds Woodway hisgh school soccer team. The ladies are an amazing group of athletes quite dedicated to their sport and team. The first day we hiked for 9.5 hours. They ran to the summit and this photo is their victory celebration! I'm very excited to see how their team does this season.
We were extremely blessed to have a GINORMOUS wall tent donated to the ministry just in time for...
King's Armor Adventure!
The week was spent with 65 8th grade ladies on kayaking, hiking, climbing, and horseback riding adventures.
Tomorrow we will meet the 8th grade boys and do the same things!
Very excited! Please pray for the guys who are on this trip 24 hours a day for 4 days. They will be herding lots of squirrly boys, but our prayer is that the boys will hear about Jesus and the gospel will penetrate their hearts.
